Earlier today, I was riding MTA Bus 181 hurtling down Broadway in Glendale en route to Pasadena while reading the newest Cerebus<\/i> book: Latter Days<\/i>. For those not in the know, Cerebus<\/i> is a long running independent comic about the exploits of an aardvark. The man sitting beside me asked if I was “into comic-strips” and then proceeded to tell me about the various animated productions he had worked on in the past for companies such as Saban, MGM, etc. He seemed to be a nice enough man, but he certainly wasn’t the best fated. He was disheveled, reeked of alcohol, his teeth were in a rotten shambles, and his mental capacities seemed a bit faulty. He was a broken ex-animator. As this man spoke to me, I couldn’t help thinking:
